Things are thankfully back to (ab)normal from yesterday's little trainwreck.
Got some serious progress done on the edit pass for book 2 today though.
I'm always amazed how the "this is good to go", chapters have such obvious and ridiculous mistakes in them.
For instance, Jack drags an armed baddy from another vehicle into Michael's SUV while in the middle of a car chase and gets into an interior fistfight. Very exciting, but... the guy's ARMED! Why wouldn't he just shoot them? Or hijack the car?
Face palm! (And believe-you-me, when recovering from a cranial sunburn, a face palm has its consequences!)
Just to follow a bunny trail my mind has wandered off down, how far should an author go like that on his blog?
I mean, I don't mind throwing out a bone here and there for fans who think it's cool. On the other hand, I wouldn't want drop a spoiler or have a cool idea plagiarized or something.
I don't feel too bad about tossing out that one small nugget from a very interesting and involved chase scene. But how far do you take it? I'm completely jazzed about the story and want to talk all about it, and I think a lot of you would like to hear it too, but...
I don't know.
Maybe I'll throw this up on a forum or two and see what others say.
Till tomorrow...
Live YOUR adventure!
